Panevezys sport`s organizations and businesses fulfilled the dream of Dominykas

On Monday in Cosmos, a coffee and cocktail bar located in Panevezys, a group of people gathered heartily. Rusnė Šermukšnytė, a representative of the well-known basketball player Rimantas Kaukėnas support team, came to the meeting to rejoice at the expanding circle of people helping children with severe illnesses.

“It’s a pleasure to see the growing number of people who are not strangers to other pains and worries. R. Kaukėnas Support Foundation strives to fulfill the dreams of hard-sick children and give them as much positive emotions as possible “, – R. Šermukšnytė addressed the meeting in such words.

Eight-year-old Panevėžys Dominykas, who had a severe oncological illness – leukemia, had to spend a lot of time in the hospital for a boyfriend, where he was given long and curable treatment. Fortunately, today Dominica can enjoy good health – the child has recovered. The family of good emotions is not busy today, and many Panevezys’ sports organizations and companies have contributed to this. The boy has long dreamed of having virtual glasses of reality, and when he finds out, the Aukstaitija Sport Group has rushed to make sure the child’s desire is fulfilled. During the meeting, the boy was presented with a gaming computer and virtual reality glasses provided by Videogame.lt and Hotfix.lt. Mantas Svidenis, Head of the Sports Games of ASTA, was awarded the valuable prize to Dominykas. The branded soccer club “Panevėžys” T-shirt for the boy was donated by the president of the Panevėžys Football Federation (PFAF) Darius Butkus. In addition, representatives of the football club “Kupiškis” brought their gifts to the meeting.

At the initiative of ASG and PAFF, soccer tournaments were arranged, in which funds were collected and dedicated to Dominican dreams.

The boy came to the meeting with his parents and two brothers. The younger one is only nine months old, and the elder, who has been 13 years old, has been doing manual work for four years and is very successful in defending the gates in both his peers and senior teams.

Indispensable for sports and Dominica. “I used to go to the chess group for about a year. Now tennis is best for all sports. I did not go for training, but I like to play tennis. It’s also like to scramble through obstacles, “said Dominykas.

What might be more fun than positive emotions and a wide smile on Dominyko’s face? We are very grateful to all those who contributed to the charity sport event: Aukštaitijos Sporto grupė, Panevėžys County Football Federation, Panevėžys City Municipality, Lithuanian Snacks, Cosmos Coffee and Cocktail Bar, Aukstaitija Implantology Clinic, Beauty and Therapy Cabin “Royal” , “Hummel”, UAB “Sporto kalvė”, Panevėžys Eglė, “Service Line”, AV Chimolonsky farm and all football teams.

In 7 hours charitable iniciative participated up to 1500 Lithuanians

Last Saturday in Vilnius and Kaunas, an annual charity event was held in which students visited the homes of people asking for support for a rare ill boy. Rimantas Kaukėnas Support Group together with Soutwestern Advantage youth campaign attracted more than 13 thousand. euro It is expected that, after counting all the donations that the organizer of the campaign reaches until now, the goal will be achieved – the estimated cost of the child’s medical treatment can be around 20 thousand. euro

“We got together to help boy Daniil with a very rare disease – retinoblastoma. We went to the house and asked for their help. Although there have been various reactions during all seven years of the campaign, the results always motivate us to continue this mission, “says Eglė Ališauskaitė, a Southwestern Advantage spokeswoman.

This year, 45 students contributed to the campaign, whose sincere engagement and talks to the action led to the participation of as many as 1,500 residents of Vilnius and Kaunas.

Ališauskaitė said after the campaign that cooperation with Rimantas Kaukėnas’ support group helps to win more people’s confidence. “The Rimantas Kaukėnas Foundation organizes many similar initiatives, knows families who need support and assistance, so we can concentrate all our efforts where they are most needed,” added Aliasauskaitė.

“On behalf of the Foundation, I want to thank the students who have given this day to the severely ill Danilo. Thank you to all the people of good will who opened the door of their house, listened and offered. We believe that with all your help we will be able to provide the boy with important treatment in Switzerland, to preserve the sight of a young patient and a bright future, “- the founder of the foundation R. Kaukėnas thanked everyone who contributed to the campaign.

According to Justina Klimaitė, a pediatric hematologist for the treatment of Danilil, the current treatment has helped stop the spread of the malignant syndrome, but it does not diminish. In Lithuania, only a few cases of retinoblastomas are newly diagnosed in the year, precisely because of the limited possibilities of treating the disease in the country. The disease is most effectively treated in Switzerland, where children from all over Europe come. There will also be Daniel in the near future.

To contribute to the vital treatment of Daniil, this can be done by transferring support to the Rimantas Kaukėnas Support Group account:

A donation of medical equipment to Kaunas Clinics was collected during the charity evening

Good to do good. This is often said about charity events. These words on February 23 The celebratory event of the basketball player Rimantas Kaukėnas Support Group was held in the “Pirklių Klubas” capital of the capital.

“The idea of this charity evening is to bring together our entire community, share the work done together, and at the same time realize it by continuing the on-going mission of collecting victims of medical equipment necessary for Kaunas clinics – special needles and drills, which would make children’s trepanobiopsy procedures less painful. I want to thank everybody who is not indifferent to the small sick of Lithuania, helps them to survive the serious trauma of a diagnosis and gives them the necessary help “, – the founder of the fund, basketball player Rimantas Kaukėnas told about the idea of a charity evening.

During the event during the event, guests were invited to participate in an auction that featured athletes selling NBA basketball players LeBron James James, Cristiano Ronaldo T-shirt, basketball players Šarūnas Jasikevičius and Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Benedict Vanagas medal from Dakar, the balls with Kaunas Žalgiris “Signatures of players, Darius Kasparaitis Ice Hockey, Ice Hockey Player, and the founder of the fund, basketball player Rimantas Kaukėnas.

At the auction, the children were donated 20 050 euros.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT

The Kaunas Clinics of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Hospital (LSMPCS) lacked essential tools for treatment – special needles and devices that would make it easier for trepan-biopsy procedures to be performed for young people.

Trepanobiopsia is a procedure whereby a special needle is poured through a solid bone marrow into a bone marrow and a piece of bone marrow is taken, which is examined in the pathology laboratory for the determination of bone marrow pathology or in the search for malignant tumor metastases. This procedure is performed when it is necessary to diagnose blood diseases and to evaluate the spread of malignant tumors. A more accurate assessment of the stage of the disease helps to provide the necessary treatment, therefore quality bone marrow trepanobiopsy is very important.

A trepanion biopsy drill with disposable needles is given to a faster and more accurate diagnostic precedent, since it does not require so much physical force to perform it, has a depth gauge that allows you to measure a sufficient amount of bone marrow that is not present in a hand-held needle. The automatic trepane biopsy drill facilitates the performance of trepane biopsy, shortens the duration of the procedure itself, and, at the same time, provides anesthetic to prevent repeat punctures, when the bone marrow gets defective.

During the year, LSMUL KK’s Children’s Oncology and Hematology Center carries out up to 100 such procedures; therefore, 100 disposable sets of trepane biopsy needles with a drill with 200 drills are required per year.
