Christmas is a time of miracles and dreams coming true. By inviting you to participate in the colorful and full of good emotions Vilnius Christmas Run, we invite you to meet our hero Yara, for whom we want to make these holidays magical!
With the help and contribution of all of you, we want to give meaning to the kilometers run and dedicate them to Yara, one and a half years old. The strong fighter was born with a rare genetic disease – WAGR syndrome and aniridia (the girl has no irises, so her eyes are particularly sensitive to light). Yara lives without 46 genes, and the absence of one of the genes (WT1) makes her more likely to develop kidney cancer. Unfortunately, the oncological disease did not go away from Yara and this diagnosis was made when the baby was only one year and two weeks old. The exhausting treatment with chemotherapy, constant examinations and the baby’s oncological disease, thought Yara’s mother, are unbearably difficult tests and it simply cannot get any worse. Three months later, Yara lost her father completely unexpectedly, and her mother lost her beloved husband and biggest supporter during a difficult period of her life.
Yara’s father was always optimistic, lived in the present and cherished every moment he spent with his daughter immensely. The girl’s father had found a special TV that would be friendly to the baby’s sensitive eyes and emit less blue light. The heroine could watch movies on such a TV, the father thought, but he didn’t have time to present this gift to his daughter…
We invite you to spread kindness and share warmth with our hero Yara and help us make her dreams come true! We want to give the fighter a special TV that is friendly to her eyes, as well as a tricycle with a canopy that will help her move around without harming her eyes and will be the most fun springtime entertainment. Each of you, when registering for the Europharmacy Christmas run, you can donate the amount of your choice to our heroine: 10 Eur, 15 Eur, 20 Eur, 30 Eur or 50 Eur.
